PARROT MINIKIT

parrot

Parrot Minikit is a completely hands-free car kit. You can set it so that you can make a call with your voice.

A car kit for completely hands-free calling. When someone calls, the name of the contact is spoken. If you say "Accept", it will be answered. If the number is not there, you will hear: "Incoming call. Say, accept or decline."

Receiving calls is also done by pressing the button near the green light. In the beginning, it takes a while to find out exactly where to press on the surface of the button. (See Pic. Yellow dot.)

Make a call:
This function is off by default. If enabled, speak the opening word first. "Minikit". Then you will hear a voice saying "Who do you want to call?". Then say the name of the contact (stored in your phone). The voice will then say, "<contact name>. Call in progress".

Range:
The range is good. I use my Parrot when I'm in bed. (Distance about 3 to 4 meters.) (10 to 13 ft) I have a high spinal cord injury that prevents me from moving my arms and hands. If I can no longer reach my blow bell*, I can still call for care. Simple with my vote.

Two numbers in one contact:
You can put a few numbers under one name. For example 'Home' and 'Mobile'. I entered two identical numbers under one name. (Under 'Home' in the form '06' and 'GSM' in the form +31'. Otherwise, it won't work.) When I call the contact, I get a second choice: "Home, GSM". In my case handy, if the Parrot has misunderstood me and takes the wrong contact, I can still say: "Cancel". Otherwise, the contact will be called immediately. I cannot push the Hangup button because I cannot use my hands.

Speech:
The voice quality is very good. The voice is reproduced properly. If there is not too much noise in the environment, the other party will hear me well.

Speech recognition is not that perfect yet. It sometimes happens that the Parrot Minikit spontaneously asks who should be called. This is due to a certain noise in the environment. Even when I sometimes snore. Perhaps a security, because I immediately wake up. :) In that case you can say "Cancel".

Battery:
Keep the battery full. If the battery becomes too empty during a call, you will hear: "Silent mode". You will no longer hear the other, but the other will hear you.

If you want to call completely hand-free, it is definitely recommended.

*Blow bell:
By blowing into a tube, an alarm is triggered by the nurses. Then they know I need help.
